Mallorca Holiday Villas

deals of the day
Need to escape after England's disappointing World Cup exit? Here are the best football-free, last-minute deals.
Can someone please tell me a few things about so we can choose our ideal there?

We've never been before, and want to make the best of our two weeks there.
We'll be going either in October or November, and probably looking for a self catering villa as we have a mixture of ages of children/teenagers with us.
My husband and I want a bit of peace and quiet, we want to be able to wander round food markets, eat local food, look at gardens, chat to people that live there, go fishing, and see some of the sights. We don't really go for busy nightclubby places. The food is really important to us, as is being able to food shop at local markets. The teenagers want a bit of a scene, but they are more into wandering around draped around each other buying nonsense. The eleven and nine year olds like their swimming and are generally up for anything.
We'd like to get as much out of the as possible as it will be one of the few we have left as a family, as the teenagers are growing up and moving on to uni (or just are not interested in family hols any more)

Personally oct/nov is a bad time to go on the weather front you will experience cloudy rainy days the best time to to is up until mid september, if that's the only time you can go head to the canaries lanzarote is lovely and hot still that time of year as that and fuerteventure (full of germans) are the closets to the african coast, but if you have your hart set on if you dislike wild nightlife stay away from magaluff/palma nova, santa ponsa/ cala millor and head to either cala dor (beautifull) or alcudia (can be a bit llively can picafort few bars and rests) or puerto pollenca (quiet with restaurants) hope this helps.
